Hello Everyone,
This is a start of something.
I should Introduce myself,
My name is Samuel J Heaver, I am an upcoming Writer, Author, and Streamer/Video Maker.
I have been streaming on and off for years, but never tried to do anything big.
I started when I was around 15, when I started doing camera work and live mixing video for my local church. After which, I started to study TV and Film Production.
Sadly, due to some unforeseen events (Mental Breakdown), I became unwell.
Spending several months in Mental Health Hospitals. When I was finally discharged, the tutor I had had been replaced!
An older (grumpier) tutor stepped in, claiming that there are no jobs in the industry and jobs are 100 to 1. This then sent me down the rabbit hole. I decided I would try a different industry. I looked at thriving industries at that time, that being the video game industry.
Foolishly, I tried to become a game designer, studying 3D modelling, programming, and art etc. Unfortunately, those are the skills I did not have any real talent with. I tried many times to learn, switching courses and universities, but I never could get a grip on those skills.
I ended up in a course doing Creative Writing and Media. This came so much more naturally to me.
However, unexpectably, I became ill again in my final year and flunked one of my modules.
I was aiming for a 2:1 but barely scraped in passing. But I did get a certificate with my accomplishment.
With nowhere to go, I went to live at my nan's house, where I barely kept it together, eventually I became so ill again I had to be hospitalized again.
Long story short, I was all over the place, literally, I was in hospital, then out, then a week later back in, but with nowhere to put me I was sent to the other side of the country. But I finally settled, I still had that spark (delusion) to do game design (at this point this industry is also saturated) I was convinced to try to study again, ending up back that another university, but this time I was not near the campus, meaning I couldn't socialise with the other students as easily (which to be honest half the point of going to Uni)
Similarly to the times before, I could not harness the skills for game development, just like before, only I had to fund the tuition myself, I was able to get some funding for my first year but had to use my maintenance loan to pay for the tuition.
By this point, the whole experience was un-fun and hurting me financially.
Ending up having to drop out. Besides, I kept telling myself all the cool things I could do after I graduate. Most of which I could easily do right there and then.
I was unsure what to do with myself for a while. I wanted to stream, but I was playing a Max RuneScape 3 character, which I thought would not be interesting for people to watch. But now! With the release of the Gower Brother's new game (Brighter Shores) I feel confident enough to try streaming once more.
I am also planning to do some charity work (I currently volunteer at a local charity (GiroScope)) including doing some charity streams with the charity Mind (HEY Mind).
Looking forward to getting stuck in.
Thanks For Reading this far.
